This vintage style quilt fully uses ten fat quarters of fabrics for the main part of the quilt which makes it a great stash buster project. The pattern contains six pages of written instructions, diagrams, construction details, a colour placement chart and a full requirements list. The success of the quilt depends on getting enough contrast between your dark fabrics and your light fabrics. Traditional patchwork techniques of stitching 1/4″ seams are used throughout to construct the square-within-a-square blocks. A knowledge of rotary cutting makes the preparation of the patches more accurate. This quilt could be done by hand or by machine. There are options for different layouts once the blocks are finished. The quilt in the main picture measures 48″ x 48″. For a more contemporary look try using batiks or modern fabrics.
